Statewide Training on Re-Entry
The Colorado Department of Corrections is expanding its Colorado Re-entry Initiative statewide to develop a comprehensive re-entry system that coordinates all phases of correctional placement. With this grant, the Department will engage the Center for Effective Policy to facilitate a multi-agency training event to support its institutional change process.
Management Assistance to Improve the Michigan Department of Corrections’ Prisoner Health Care System
The Michigan Public Health Institute is a private non-profit that seeks to maximize positive health conditions in communities through collaboration, scientific inquiry, and applied expertise. This grant supports independent oversight and support by the Institute of efforts by Michigan’s Department of Corrections to improve the management and public understanding of its prisoner health care system.

Sexual Violence Standards Implementation Project
Stop Prisoner Rape, a human rights organization devoted to ending sexual abuse in all forms of detention, is working with the Oregon Department of Corrections to pilot national standards to prevent, detect, and respond to sexual abuse at three state prisons.
Thinking for a Change: The Institutional Transformation of KS and MI DOC's
The University of Missouri - St. Louis is documenting the process of change going on in the departments of corrections of Kansas and Michigan. Through a combination of interviews, observation, and analysis of policies, the study will describe how these organizations implement new agency goals, realign internal processes, and transform inter-institutional relations.
