The Center for Gerontology and Health Care Research is a nationally recognized research center that focuses on the health and social service needs of persons with chronic illnesses, especially older adults. This grant examines how state and federal policies impact the provision of hospice and palliative care in long-term care settings.
The Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS) is a nationally recognized center of expertise in promoting best practices in managed care for beneficiaries of publicly financed care. CHCS will conduct a scan of Medicaid policies that support community-based systems of care for people with long-term care needs to identify promising opportunities for improvement.
Founded in 1999, the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) leads a national initiative that was established to develop clinical and administration curriculum for doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and administrators, and work with regional training centers around the country to help hospitals and other health care organizations create and sustain palliative care programs. This grant provides operating support to CAPC.

This grant provides support to the Center to Advance Palliative Care to strengthen its fundraising base and institutional infrastructure over the long-term.
The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) is the largest nonprofit membership organization representing hospice and palliative care programs and professionals in the U.S. NHPCO will map federal and state policies that affect the delivery of hospice and palliative care in the U.S.
